Lynne Koplitz Biography

Lynne Koplitz is from the south, graduating from Troy State in Alabama. She did some theatre in Nashville and Atlanta before moving to New York City and trying her hand at stand-up. She was discovered after she became the host of that crazy relationship show ‘Change of Heart.’

She performs at Stand-Up New York, Comic Strip Live, and Gotham Comedy Club. She also co-starred on the syndicated talk show ‘Life and Style with Jules Asner’ and the cooking show ‘How to Boil Water’ on the Food Network. Koplitz is currently in talks to develop her own sitcom on NBC. This makes Lynne the first comedienne since Roseanne and Brett Butler to work with Tom Werner, of ‘Roseanne,’ ‘Grace Under Fire,’ and ‘That 70s Show’ fame.

Lynne Koplitz is an American stand-up comedian and actress. Born June 13, 1969 in Douglasville, Georgia, USA. She was host of Telepictures' nationally syndicated dating show Change of Heart, guest host on NBC's Later, co-host of the Food Network's How to Boil Water, and co-host of Sony Pictures syndicated talk show Life and Style. Her stand-up has appeared on a number of Comedy Central specials, including Premium Blend. She performed at the Montreal Comedy Festival.


Koplitz earned a BA in theatre arts from Troy University where she was a member of the Iota Kappa Chapter of Chi Omega in 1989. She performed for a regional theater group in Knoxville, Tennessee, before moving to New York City. Her father was a chef, her mother trains circus chimps for Barnum & Bailey.

She is working on an HBO comedy special.

Koplitz is one of the comedian contributors to the "History of the Joke" on the History Channel, hosted by Lewis Black. Koplitz is currently featured in a series of advertisements for her alma mater, Troy University.
